Sharing Hope Today
Short Version:
Ruth is a survivor. Over time, she discovered great hope that completely transformed her life.
Now she loves to share hope when she helps others learn to thrive. She advocates, writes, and teaches to support women, students, and other survivors who want to draw near the Lord. Her hopeful messages include large doses of God’s unfailing love and mercy.
With her down-home, deep Texas roots showing, Ruth shares practical strategies for understanding the Bible and coming close to the Lord. She also helps others discover how to thrive, according to God’s creative design within them as individuals.
Ruth and her husband, Bill develop Bible lessons to share in person and online. They want to equip parents who are training up their children in the Lord. Bill and Ruth send their lessons by email at no cost. Let them know if you want to receive a sample of the lessons. Contact us here.
Ruth is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas and Christian Leaders Authors and Speakers Services (CLASS). She is a certified Parenting Coach (American Association of Christian Counselors).
While looking for reasons to laugh out loud, Ruth enjoys traveling, meeting new people, spending time with her family and friends, and exploring God’s wondrous creation.
Really Short Version:
Way More Than You Want to Know:
As a survivor of trauma (including domestic violence and abandonment), Ruth helps other people experience God’s unfailing love and mercy. For more than two decades, she has shared uplifting, practical messages full of hope to equip women, parents, students, and other survivors to live the abundant life that Jesus offers.
A few years ago, Ruth founded Sulphur River Valley Women’s Conference, an annual event where all women can feel safe. There’s a small team of area residents who caught her vision and prayerfully reach out to women in NE Texas, especially those who live in Delta, Fannin, Lamar, Hopkins, Hunt Counties and beyond.
During her 18 years as a career Fire Prevention Officer in the Dallas Fire Department, Ruth worked her way through the ranks, retiring as Fire Prevention Captain.
In addition to serving as a supervisor, Ruth conducted fire safety inspections and taught fire and life safety for preschoolers to college students to senior adults and every age and stage of life in-between. Throughout her time with the Fire Department, she saw more than a lifetime of suffering and grief. She served with other members of the Christian Fellowship of Firefighters to bring some hope in the darkness.
A Little More:
Now, Ruth equips women and students to understand how God designed them, according to His purpose and plan for them. She uses a colorful palette of polished gems to teach Personality Style differences with a faith-based perspective. She shares visual and verbal clues for identifying God’s purpose and plan for each individual. Ruth also trains parents and other caregivers to understand their children according to God’s design.
Together Bill and Ruth have many decades of serving their community. Their fire service experience goes from rookie school to city hall, from fire stations to training centers, from fire scenes to fire inspections.
Several years ago, Bill and Ruth were in danger of losing their public service pensions. Instead of fighting for what they earned, the Lord led them to trust Him and start developing their Bible lessons to share hope with other Fire Department retirees and spouses. The Crows send their lessons by email at no cost to anyone who wants to receive them.
Some of the Bible verses that inspire their work are found in Isaiah 55:8-11.
The Lord said, “My thoughts are nothing like yours. And My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts. The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry.”
The Lord continued, “It is the same with My Word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”
When the Lord sends His Word, it always produces fruit (something good), accomplishes all He desires (His purpose and will), and it prospers (brings hope and thriving) everywhere He sends it.
So, as the Lord leads them, Ruth and Bill share His Word both in person and online. Let them know if you want to receive the Bible lessons by email. Contact them here.
